Thanksgiving is over, but We're Still Grateful and Giving Back!

The most wonderful time of the year is upon us! It's a time when many reflect on who and what they are thankful for in their lives. We sure have a lot to be thankful for this year...

Earlier this year, I was working as a chiropractor for a large multi-clinic practice. My wife and I were feeling good and making a lot of plans. We were thinking about Disney vacations, home renovations, and putting more money down to tackle our student loan debt faster.

Then, I got an unwelcome surprise that we never worked into our plans. We wouldn't be taking those trips, making those improvements, or paying down debt. I was laid off from my job. There was no way to plan for this, and honestly, it was scary. Our planning changed from exciting ideas to stressful conversations about how long we could continue to pay our bills.

But from something so unexpected, so scary, and so stressful came something even better than we had before. With the support of my family, lots of hard work, and a little bit of good luck, Excel Chiropractic and Rehabilitation was open for business just 1 month later. We opened our doors in record time, in hopes of providing a continuity of care to the patients that I'd been working with in Robinson Township for many years. I was so touched by the fact that many of my patients followed me to Excel. I recognized that they had many choices for their care, and I will never take for granted that they continued to choose me.

This could have been a very bad year for my family. Instead, it's turned out to be one of the most exciting yet. We still have a long way to go in growing Excel Chiropractic & Rehabilitation, but the outpouring of support from family, friends, and my new Faster family has been incredible. I'm grateful for the opportunity to own my own practice and grateful for the patients who entrust me with their care.

With that long story out of the way, I'll get back to the point of this post. We are very fortunate that we're able to provide a nice Christmas for our children in spite of some hard times earlier this year. On behalf of Excel Chiropractic & Rehabilitation, I'd like to donate to a worthy cause that will help other local families and neighbors who were not as fortunate as we were this year.

I have chosen to donate to Light of Life Rescue Mission. They are currently taking donations to provide meals to local families this holiday season. They also provide shelter and various other programs and services to those in need. When donating to Light of Life, it takes only $2.58 to provide a hot meal to someone who wouldn't otherwise have one.

Here's how YOU can help! From November 24th 2018 through December 10th 2018, I'll be counting the number of Likes that Excel Chiropractic & Rehabilitation receives on Facebook. For every new Like during those dates, I'll add $1 more to Excel Chiropractic and Rehabilitation's donation amount. If you're reading this and haven't given us a Like yet, follow this link to our page: www.facebook.com/excelpgh . At the time of writing, we're at 147 likes, so follow along on Facebook to see how high we can go!
